And it's certainly true about the presets it's very impressive, the variety of sounds that they can get out of a particular kit. This might not touch on your motivation for considering AD2 and EZD2, but I think their target customer is the guy looking to get great sounds *very fast.* Obviously you can still do the individual-mixer-channels thing if you want to get final sounds in the host DAW.This is a good assessment. Its one of the major things I love about it. Of course the built in mixer/effects are where the presets make their changes, but the point is the resulting sound shaping abilities are wide, deep and diverse. One can change the sound *dramatically* simply by using the presets.
Not to overstate this, but there is a sense in which I *can't tell you* what the samples in AD2 sound like, because the included overall presets are so diverse - and quite remarkable. Regarding the sound quality of the samples. I can say I think AD2 is great and don't regret the upgrade. On the whole, I'm willing to bet the two are pretty close. I don't know if anything I've written is a "deal breaker" for either product, but they're worth thinking about. It seems to be motivated to make you purchase Toontrack libraries. EZD2 does not have "tap to find" for any libraries NOT created from Toontrack.
AD2 has an excellent transformation thing, to take existing beats and quickly transform them before dragging them to your arrange window.ģ. Its not "tap to find" but it is very quick and painless.Ģ. AD2 has an excellent ability to find beats quickly. AD2 (or AD1) lacks this excellent feature, which *might* lead one to think EZD2 is a slam dunk favorite. I may end up buying EZD2 myself, mostly for the "tap to find" search feature. I am principally a songwriter/solo musician that uses these tools for composition. Personally, I am curious about EZD2 as well, and I have used the trial/demo version. I have zero complaints about the sound quality.
